Maribyrnong City Council
Maribyrnong City Council is the local council for Footscray, West Footscray, and Tottenham, in Melbourne’s inner west. Footscray station is on the Werribee line and the Sunbury line. Melbourne Airport Rail stage 1 starts at West Footscray and includes a new Tottenham station. The cancelled East West Link was proposed to surface in this part of the west. The council’s customer service desk is at Footscray Library on Paisley Street. The municipality is small: Footscray, West Footscray, Yarraville, Seddon, Kingsville, Maidstone, Braybrook, Maribyrnong, and Tottenham.
At the 2021 Census the Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 85,209 people usually living in Maribyrnong. The median age was 35, against 38 for Victoria. There were 40,427 private dwellings, with 2.4 people per household, the smallest households of the councils in this directory. The median weekly household income was $1,998.
