Lilydale
Lilydale is a suburb on Melbourne’s eastern edge, in Yarra Ranges Council. Lilydale station is the end of the Lilydale line. The shire runs far beyond the station, through the Dandenong Ranges and the Upper Yarra. Lilydale is the railhead, not the whole municipality.
At the 2021 Census the Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 17,348 people usually living in Lilydale. The median age was 40. The Victorian median on the same release was 38. There were 7,095 private dwellings, with 2.5 people per household on average, the same as Victoria. The median weekly household income was $1,764.
